This time of year bombards us all with three different holidays at once every time we step foot into a store. We here at the Lazy Bartender understand all of this hullabaloo can drive any sane person to drink, so we came up with the perfect cocktail you can make once you get home humming Jingle Bells, carrying bags of candy, and the big ass turkey you’ll need this year. And it’s called…. drumroll….. “ThanksHallowChrist”.
Stop by your local liquor store and/or grocery store and pick up the following items:
Whisky - the higher the proof the better.
Absinthe - yes it’s legal to buy now and a little goes a long way!
Honey - get the good stuff, not the one in the bear bottle even if it’s cute.
Fresh Sage - found in the produce area and the best part is you can use this for T/Day too if you want.
How to Make your Honey-Sage Simple Syrup:
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup water
2 large sprigs of sage
Place all ingredients into small saucepan over high heat until it boils and the honey is dissolved (about 1-2 minutes). Let cool then pour into a glass bottle to use as desired.
0.5oz Honey-Sage Simple Syrup
Dash of Absinthe
Add ice to a shaker, Pour all ingredients into shaker over ice, Stir for about 10 seconds, Then strain into a tumbler glass filled with ice, Sip and Enjoy letting the stress of the upcoming holidays slip away.
